Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Administrative Assistant in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is vital in the healthcare industry, as you will be the first point of contact with patients and referral sources, representing the face of our company. Your work will entail a variety of administrative duties, requiring exceptional organizational and people skills, and a high level of discretion to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the initial contact for patients, warmly greeting them and efficiently checking them in and out.

• Manage a multi-line phone system, providing courteous and professional service.

• Act as a liaison for referring physicians/groups, facilitating smooth communication.

• Register patients, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected.

• Display strong verbal and written communication skills when providing general company and service information.

• Verify patient insurance details and initiate prior authorizations.

• Collect patient balances and maintain general chart maintenance using Athena software.

• Coordinate with referral sources to obtain physician schedules and order devices through NetSuite software.

• Support the clinic staff and office flow, contributing to an organized and efficient workplace.

• Maintain HIPAA compliance, safeguarding patient confidentiality and privacy.

• Review patient no shows daily, documenting and rescheduling appointments as necessary.

• Schedule appointments for new appointments and coordinate follow-up appointments with physicians.

• Exhibit adaptability in a dynamic environment and the ability to multi-task effectively.

• Demonstrate exceptional computer skills in carrying out administrative tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Basic Medical Terminology is required

• Experience working in a Medical Front Office setting is essential

• Knowledge of Medical Insurance Verification processes is needed

• Familiarity with Patient Registration procedures is a must

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

• Proficiency in using medical software and computer systems is desirable

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• High school diploma or equivalent is required, higher education or certifications in medical administration are preferred.
