MPF Federal is seeking Medical Assistants that can work a 6-month contract, in a remote setting. In this role, you’ll utilize our proprietary electronic medical record system to evaluate and process patient health information, ensuring accurate outcomes for various medical and specialty exams. Your responsibilities will include reviewing examination documentation, test results, and assessments, and conducting phone interviews with Service Members and Veterans to compile clear, comprehensive, and concise final reports. Collaboration with providers, Veterans, and Service Members is essential to ensure examinations meet regulatory and contractual requirements for compensation and benefit rating purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with contract requirements and guidelines, utilizing licensed support to produce clear, comprehensive, and concise exam documentation.

  • Document test results accurately.

  • Support providers, Veterans, and Service Members in navigating and utilizing medical history information for disability claims.

  • Identify and evaluate exam documentation requiring immediate follow-up for behavioral health issues, initiating high-risk intervention processes when necessary.

  • Complete system-generated tasks to process exam documentation.

  • Communicate via telephone and email with contracted providers, Veterans, and Service Members to retrieve required Disability Benefits Questionnaire information and provide education on contractual protocol.

Required Qualifications:

  • Vocational or Technical Training/Education in a Medical related field such as Medical Assistant, LPN, Health Information Technology (HIT), EMT, Medic, Corpsman, or completion of the following 4 courses: Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Human Body Systems, and Common Diseases or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered

  • Knowledge of healthcare documentation, including medical, behavioral, and psychological terminology.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.

  • Working knowledge of technical writing.

  • Ability to interpret medical documentation accurately.

  • Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word.

  • Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record system.

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CT OR 10:00 am to 7:00 pm CT.

  • Dedicated, distraction-free home office space with high-speed internet access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Typing speed of 40 words per minute.

  • Experience navigating Microsoft Teams.

  • Experience in Home Health or Hospice care.

  • Military experience.
