*This position serves as a float position to cover all offices and specialty clinics within Fauquier Health Physician Services when applicable. Office locations in Gainesville, Warrenton, Culpeper, and Bealeton. *

The Medical Assistant will provide general patient care in a physician office setting. The Medical Assistant will complete tasks as directed by physician and office manager to ensure seamless operation.

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Administers injections, vaccines and medications and other related tasks as instructed by physician.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.

Minimum Education
□ High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred X Required

Required Skills
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support BLS (may be obtained week of orientation)

X Medical Assistant must be credentialed by an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) (within 6 months of hire).

Minimum Work Experience
Required – 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Demonstrated phlebotomy experience.
Preferred – 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse. Six months of phlebotomy skills to include blood draws is preferred.
