The Northville Health Center is an Ambulatory Care facility dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The 2-story facility is located at the corner of 7 Mile and Haggerty in Northville Township. Responsibilities*

Responsible for the coordination of daily activities for the Northville HC including; C&W and Infusion Medical Assistants to ensure optimal clinic flow. Provides interpretation and instruction for policies, procedures, and practices. Maintains work schedules, reviews timesheets for accuracy and assists with performance evaluations for other Medical Assistants. Provides in service training, acts as a preceptor and coach’s performance of other Medical Assistants. Participates with leadership team to ensure effective clinical operations. Promotes and facilitates positive communication with the entire health care team. Performs and assists with clinic procedures and duties. Assist with TJC compliance and requirements. Role is split with senior duties along with regular MA provider assignment. 

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experience. 
  • Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting. 
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills. 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.
  • Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record systems.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures. 

Work Schedule

Monday- Friday with some evening shifts and rotating Saturdays

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
