GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Medical Director will provide qualified medical direction and consultation for the delivery care and complex case management. In addition, this role will provide clinical leadership and guidance to the regional interdisciplinary team. The medical director collaborates clinically with the APP to insure standards of care are practiced. This position will take an active role in quality improvement including tracking and trending of metrics, establishment of quality improvement projects and engagement with process improvement. The role includes recognizing clinical gaps and opportunities among the team and to work with the clinical directors and APPs to educate and maximize the team to perform at the top of their scope. The medical director will partner with the APP, RN and SW as needed to interact/ communicate with the primary care physician as necessary for appropriate medical care. The role will provide oversight of physician services by complementing the primary care physician, acting as a medical resource to the interdisciplinary group, assuring continuity of care, establishment of goals of care, care plans and through patient centered evaluation and engagement. The medical director will serve as a clinical champion – promoting and representing the program to physicians, physician groups, discharge planners, other referral sources, community health organizations, and potential donors, as appropriate.

Pay Range Minimum:
$170,000.00
Pay Range Maximum:
$342,274.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
