Job Title: Medical Director for Pediatric Mental Health Institute Quality and Safety

Job Summary:
The Medical Director for the Pediatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI) Quality and Safety program will provide oversight and leadership for quality and safety across a comprehensive pediatric mental health continuum of care working collaboratively with the PMHI Chair and Institute Leadership (including Medical Directors, Chief of Psychology, Clinical Directors, Vice Presidents), and relevant Administrative and Patient Care Services Leadership. Other important collaborations will include working with the Quality/Patient Safety, Process Improvement, Clinical Effectiveness, Learning Health System teams at CHCO and within the CU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. Specifically, Service Line Administrator, Section/Divisional leadership and the Medical Staff/Providers will work with the Director to champion the Quadruple Aim of CHCO initiatives regarding quality and safety, improving access and equity, and advancing care quality and outcomes through research, education, systems integration, innovation, and advocacy.
Scope of responsibility will include overall leadership of QI and safety initiatives within PMHI, including teaching and coaching of team members regarding patient, family and team member safety, and providing direction and partnership for the QI/PI Program Manager. The Director of QI and Safety will partner with the Director of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Research, serve as a member of the PMHI Data Governance and Learning Health System Teams, partner with the Medical Director of Informatics to enhance efficiencies and access to data relevant to QI and safety, and partner with the process improvement team in strategic and quality initiatives. Position includes identifying and supporting research and education opportunities of faculty, staff, and trainees related to quality and safety work within PMHI. The Director will serve as a key member of the PMHI leadership team and participate in strategic discussions and operational planning across the pediatric mental health service line.

This is an at-will position. Performance will be reviewed annually by the Chair, Pediatric Mental Health Institute, with input from CHCO CMO, SOM Department Chair, and PMHI service line and patient care services leadership, other CHCO staff (as appropriate) and applicable CUSOM faculty and providers.

Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite at PMHI and assigned primary care practices, as well as opportunity for virtual consultations and administrative work.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
This position will be a 0.3 FTE buyout with a $9,000 annual stipend.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
