This temporary position is located in Goldsboro, NC – Wayne County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $29.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services This position is located at 1401 W Ash st., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
Major responsibility as a Medical Services Moonlighting Physician Extender in Medical Services is to assure optimum patient care and medical management of patients at Cherry Hospital during scheduled after hours and weekend duty. Specific responsibilities are delineated in Description of Work. There is always a back-up attending Medical Services Physician who is available by telephone and in the event of an emergency or as needed, able to return to Hospital to assist moonlighting provider on-site.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Position requires basic and continuously updated, evidence-based knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, physical medicine, primary care medicine, preventive health maintenance, emergency medical care, radiology interpretation, ECG interpretation and administrative procedures.
- Position requires knowledge of and adherence to Cherry Hospital policies and procedures.
- Position requires ethical and stringent adherence to safe practice of medicine such that associates and patients are not placed at increased risk of harm due to medical provider’s practices.
- Visual attention, mental concentration and manipulative skills are required and used constantly at the very high level that is necessary in the routine and emergency medical care of patients. The ability to jog (run at a slow pace) to medical emergencies is required.
- Errors in medicine can result in harm to patients, therefore, it is expected that accuracy and attention to detail will be evident in the provider’s daily practice habits and documentation. When error occurs, the provider will be required to accept feedback with grace and introspection. The provider will be expected to have the ability to learn from errors and provide the supervisor with personal plans for improvement if appropriate.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board.
