Job Title: Medical Practice ManagerFLSA Status: Exempt, Full-TimeSalary: $50,000 – $75,000Location: Alamogordo, NMJob SummaryA Practice Manager performs many leadership, organization and decision-making tasks to maintain and grow the medical practice.

  • Establish, implement and ensure ongoing compliance with effective workplace procedures.
  • Ensure policies and best practices are up to industry standards and government regulations.
  • Hire, train and manage administrative staff.
  • Supervise daily practice operations such as provider schedules, billing, debt collections, security and occupational health and safety.
  • Monitor the inventory and medical equipment and organize for resupply.
  • Interact with patients and address any concerns.
  • Coordinate routine staff meetings and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to develop business strategies and patient services.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or minimum of three (3) years’ experience in practice management/management in a similar environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of practice management and health record management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant healthcare and administrative software and health and safety standards in the medical industry.
  • Ability to communicate well with clients, employees, business associates, and professional associates.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and special projects; Ability to handle and resolve emerging situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to write reports, prepare graphs and conduct other business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, customers, and the general public.
  • Clear appropriate Background Check and ability to pass initial and ongoing drug screenings.

General AccountabilitiesThe Practice Manager is responsible for managing the work of all administrative and non-administrative team members to ensure service delivery and all operational aspects to achieve excellent customer service, engaged and satisfied employees, quality, costs, and maximized productivity/reimbursement in line with company strategy, goals, and values.

  • Coordinate regular team meetings and send recaps to the team.
  • Provide support and direction to enhance performance, skills, and knowledge of practice team within the practice(s). This includes ensuring employees receive proper onboarding, training, and monitoring of each team member’s performance.
  • Implement existing effective workplace procedures across departments and teams.
  • Create new policies when the need arises.
  • Ensure operations run smoothly daily. This includes promoting positive patient experiences, reviews, team members job satisfaction, workplace efficiency, shorter wait times, and completion of tasks.
  • Troubleshoot problems such as non-working equipment, patient complaints, inefficiencies, workplace conflicts, and other items that may disrupt operations.
  • Manage EMR software, data and reporting.
  • Conduct team member training evaluations, celebrate high performance, create improvement opportunity plans, and verbal/write ups if needed.
  • Work with various departments on improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Promote a harmonious team culture that aligns with the mission.
  • Work with HR/Marketing Specialist with conducting patient surveys, creating growth plans, planning for scale, and promoting a successful practice.
  • Supervise and manage all support staff.
  • Provide leadership for optimal functioning of the services provided by the practice.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
