JOB SUMMARY:
The psychologist will provide individual and group consultations for people affected by the war, including those experiencing stress, anxiety, or other psycho-emotional disorders. They will assess the psychological condition of clients, offer recommendations for further support, and develop and implement psychosocial assistance programs. If necessary, the psychologist will also provide remote consultations and participate in interdisciplinary meetings, while maintaining professional confidentiality and proper documentation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Conduct individual psychological consultations for individuals with moderate mental health disorders, promoting their emotional well-being.
·Collaborate closely with caseworkers to assess clients’ needs and develop individualized support plans.
·Utilize psychoeducational approaches to teach clients self-help methods and stress management techniques.
·Facilitate group sessions and training to raise awareness and provide support among participants.
·Work in partnership with psychotherapists and psychiatrists for internal and external referrals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client needs.
·Provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) in crisis situations.
·Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality while handling documentation.
·Maintain records and documentation related to consultations and outcomes.
·Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss cases and collaborate with other professionals.
·Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support program objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
·At least a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or higher (e.g., Psychiatrist, PhD, or MD).
·A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in clinical psychology practice and providing specialized psychological counseling in a humanitarian setting through an NGO.
·Previous experience in health programs and work with NGOs is preferred.
·Knowledge and experience in clinical supervision and training.
·Familiarity with and experience in applying inter-agency standards and guidelines in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), such as IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings.
·Clear understanding of protection principles, case management, and client-centered assistance in humanitarian contexts.
·Proficiency in Ukrainian and Russian is mandatory, with basic knowledge of English being desirable.
·Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, are essential for tasks such as data collection, map updates, and providing detailed weekly reports on outreach activities.Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
REPORTING LINES
·The position reports to a Case Manager or Senior Case Management Officer, depending on the office structure.
·The position technically reports to the MHPSS Manager.
·The role closely collaborates with the IRC Health Lead and protection programs operating in the area.
