The UC Irvine School of Education seeks applicants for temporary, part-time lecturer pool in fall quarter 2024 to teach a course in the Master of Arts with Credential Program. Courses are available in the multiple subject and single subject pathway. Some courses are part of a 2-quarter or 3-quarter series.

Course Description:

Learning to Learn from Teaching (EDUC 305) – 4 units, fall, single subject program, 2 sections available.

Provide a space for teacher candidates to learn how to observe and analyze teaching by using artifacts from practice. Use of analytic tools for (1) observing and reflecting on observed instruction; (2) examining student thinking and the relationship between teaching and learning; (3) understanding particular components of the teaching/learning process; and (4) planning effective instruction including innovative teaching practices. Help teacher candidates develop a vision of ambitious, equitable, and socially just teaching.

Service Period Dates:

Fall Quarter is 9/26/24– 12/13/24

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree, a record of successful teaching experience, a valid multiple or single subject credential, experience teaching in K-12 setting, and demonstrated expertise in the content of the course to be taught. Relevant experience may be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in a field related to the course to be taught. Teaching at University level.

Salary:

Annual full-time salaries will begin at a base rate of $66,259. The salary range is $66,259-70,295 annually. (A 4-unit course = 33% of a full time 100% assignment.
