Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of MSPEC Portfolio Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for compliantly driving results for assigned products in PCP and Women’s Health to specific customers within assigned geography. Ability to compliantly deliver results, improve territory productivity and execute the territory sales plan with positive attitude and growth mindset.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Results: Achieve assigned sales objective for the territory.
- Productivity: Organize his/her territory / account to maximize sales impact. Review and analyze market data for developing and implementing business plans that focus on selling to targeted customer segments / business channels. Utilize given tools & technologies (sales automation system) to maximize sales effectiveness.
- Activity/Effort: Execute calls on SMPA customers to provide accurate product information and ensure availability of multiple SMPA products in the territory. Use skills and tools to understand customer needs and adjust sales approach accordingly. Build strong business relationships with prospective and current SMPA customers.
- Positive Attitude: Resilient, embraces challenges and changes.
- Operate within the assigned expense budget. Complete administrative requirements including accurate, timely reporting, budget management, log-ins etc.
- Partner with internal and external constituents to maximize customer satisfaction and drive profitable growth and sales targets.
- Complete all required training courses and continually update knowledge on product / disease state, local market, and pharmaceutical environment.
Key Core Competencies
- Significant customer (PCP and specialist) knowledge and understand the business channels and the business needs of each target within their defined territory.
- Significant knowledge of their local market, experience across multiple specialties is a plus.
- Candidates must demonstrate a consistent track record of strong sales performance, with product launch experience preferred.
- The candidate must be able to facilitate and lead relevant discussions on the clinical and economic benefits of promoted products and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets and Leadership to present consistent data to the customer.
- Candidates must provide two most immediate years of documented sales performance and two years of annual reviews.
- The candidate must also possess high-level business acumen that would lead to ability to thrive in a multiple product selling.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic and actionable business plans to deliver sales results.
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and group.
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of the payer landscape including commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare.
- Candidates must have excellent presentation & organizational skills and be proficient with a PC (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and sales force automation systems).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Business or Life Sciences. MBA or pursuance of one, is preferred.
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience is required and a demonstrated mastery of product and disease state knowledge.
- Travel within territory is required, which may include both car and overnight air travel depending upon territory.
- Some national travel to corporate headquarters, training, product theaters and sales meetings is required on a periodic basis.
- Work hours may include meetings scheduled outside of normal working hours.
The base salary range for this role is $108,000 to $135,000. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education, and other factors permitted by law.
