We are looking for someone who exudes a deep passion for teaching English and literature, igniting the same fervor within their scholars. Our ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive background in English literature and writing, with expertise in literary analysis, grammar, composition, and creative writing. The ability to engage and inspire young minds is paramount.

The (Very Important) Fine Print
- Qualifications/Certification.
- All teachers must hold a Bachelor’s degree upon employment.
- Teachers in our schools must meet certification requirements by employment commencement. This can be achieved in a few ways:
- Possession of a valid Tennessee teaching license with the required content endorsements.
- Holding a valid teaching license transferable from another state with reciprocity to TN.
- Enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the first day of employment and having successfully passed the content related praxis exam within the last 5 years.
- Prior Experience.
- Highly preferred: Previous experience teaching English, working in low-income communities, and a demonstrated ability to elevate the academic performance of underserved scholars.
- Essential: A strong commitment to addressing historical inequities based on race and class in the American South.
- Placement. Middle School English Teachers will lead English classes at Nashville Prep or Liberty Collegiate Academy.
