National Consultant – General Ledger Team

Job Purpose

The objective of this consultancy is to provide specialized financial support services to streamline the Institute’s financial operations, ensure accuracy in financial data management, and assist with project and Institute audits.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Recording of Bank Credits
  • Coordinate with relevant Finance teams for the identification and proper recording of receipts
  • Regularly send a list of unidentified bank credits for monitoring and proper identification by relevant Finance Teams
• Reconciliation of Bank and Cash Accounts
  • Prepare the monthly reconciliation reports
  • Coordinate with relevant Finance teams for the recording and/or resolution of the reconciling items
• Recording of Chargebacks and Allocation
  • Support the GL team during month-end closing by preparing and uploading allocation entries
• Analysis of Accounts
  • In coordination with the project accountants, prepare uploaders for project reconciling items to facilitate
    accurate project cost tracking and timely recording of adjustments.
• Providing Support for Project and Institute Audits
  • Gather and organize necessary documents to support project and institute audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules needed for the audit.
• Providing Support for ERP transition
  • Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation needed for the transition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related field
• Preferably CPA, with a least one year experience in accounting, auditing, financial management, budgeting, or related field

Skills Required

Mandatory

• Has knowledge of accounting systems, bookkeeping and financial reporting
• Ability to communicate professionally, positively, and effectively with a variety of individuals integral to the position
• Ability to quickly learn and grasp the implications of financial terms and conditions
• Attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information
• Can work with minimal supervision
• Proficient in using MS Office and has relevant experience in computerized financial systems and flexibility to adapt new software applications
