New Grad Program  

Candidates selected for this position will be included in Hydro One’s New Grad development program. Please apply to a maximum of 3 New Grad Positions of your choice.  

  

Our New Graduate program reflects our long-term commitment to invest time and resources to build the best and brightest team. We are always on the lookout for individuals who have a passion for learning and are looking to build their career with Hydro One.  

  

The two-year program offers a permanent position from Day 1, a combination of training and coaching, and the ability to rotate through several roles allowing New Grads to gain experience working on different projects and in different environments.   

  

Program Eligibility  

  • You have graduated with your bachelor’s degree in 2023, 2024 or will graduate by May 2025  

  • Or, you are currently completing a master’s degree in a related field, you are graduating by May 2025, and have a maximum of 1 year between completing your bachelor’s degree and enrolling in your master’s program.  

  • Good Academic Standing (A copy of your Official/Unofficial Transcript)  

  • Valid, permanent driver’s license (Ontario Class G)  

 

HR Analytics 

 

We are seeking 1 Data Science New Grad within our HR Analytics team.  

 

The HR analytics team in Hydro One Human Resources provides reporting services and analytics solutions related to workforce to enable our people leaders to develop data-driven insights to improve workforce processes and programs. 

 

The Data Science New Grad position in the HR analytics team involves working with technological tools to provide thorough data analysis and assisting HR professionals and people leaders in crucial decision-making about its workforce. The New Grad will have exposure to other human resources fields and other functions within Hydro One to gain a solid understanding of the business and the utility industry. The HR analyst would also help streamline HR processes by suggesting relevant insights and analyzing data about key HR processes. 

 

In this role you will: 

  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve talent outcomes and business outcomes 

  • Client-focused in providing stakeholders with data-driven advice 

  • Collaborate with teams on projects, providing data analysis support and communicating insights and recommendations effectively to the broader business 

  • Contribute to enhancing current HR reporting processes and building efficiency

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and effectively 

  • A self-motivated individual with an aptitude to learn in a fast-paced environment 

  • Interest in driving change and taking on new challenges 

  • Collaboratively work in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to drive narratives through experience with data visualization tools (Power BI and SQL is an asset) 

 

Job Requirements:  

  • Must meet New Grad Program Eligibility Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.  

  • Previous Co-op/Internship experience in a relevant field and industry is considered an asset; experience/knowledge in Human Resources is also an asset. 

  • Proficient in statistics, datasets, and machine learning exercises 

  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

Candidates selected for this position will be included in Hydro One’s New Grad training and development program.
