Nocturnist – Physician – Manhattan, NY

The Division of Hospital Medicine (DHM) of the Mount Sinai Health System, NY, is recruiting Nocturnists to care for patients admitted to the Medical Service. 

The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking Nocturnist physicians for Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Queens, and Mount Sinai St. Luke’s. The chosen candidate will serve as a hospitalist on the observation unit providing nighttime coverage responsible for the care of patients admitted to the observation unit through the emergency department. The physician will serve as backup for the housestaff who are providing nighttime coverage for patients admitted to the general medical wards. In addition to providing direct patient care, the responsibilities will also include oversight/direct supervision of medical housestaff as well as allied health personnel (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, etc.) and timely completion of medical record responsibilities, as specified within the Rules and Regulations of the Mount Sinai Health System Medical Staff. The physician will work a 7-on/7-off schedule. Shifts begin at 7pm and end after morning signout at roughly 7:30am. The physician will have an additional 16 days of vacation on top of the aforementioned weeks off. Competitive benefits and salary offered.

Position Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York State Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
