JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of a Logistic Coordinator is to implement delegated area of logistic responsibility and deliver a variety of procurement and other logistics related activities, including management of warehouse, fleet, distribution and asset.

Key Responsibilities

Generic responsibilities

  1. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements
  2. Implement NRC’s logistic systems and procedures at area level
  3. Coordinate timely operational planning and management of logistic activities
  4. Ensure that local SOP’s regulate procedures at field office level, and perform periodic checks
  5. Coordinate market assessment within the scope and request of programme/project developers
  6. Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  7. Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  8. Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings related to logistic
  9. Line management of the logistic team including recruitment and performance management
  10. Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
  11. Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods
  12. Contribute to implementing Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across your work area.
  13. Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager

Specific responsibilities

  1. Provide technical guidance and training to logistics staff to effectively support ongoing projects.
  2. Maintain pipeline planning and ensure that sufficient warehouse space, handling and transportation resources are available.
  3. Line management of procurement and warehouse staff, ensuring anticipation, coordination, efficiency and relevant communication with relevant departments at AO level. Take the lead on most important procurement and warehouse activities.
  4. Ensure efficient fleet management through proper sizing of the fleet, movement plannig, fuel management, shared management of drivers with HSS.
  5. Responsible for AO assets management in line with NRC policy.
  6. Provide logistics reports on regular basis (KPI reports, fuel reports, etc.) and ad hoc reports based on requests from AO and CO (donor reports, partners report, stock reports, etc.).
  7. Represent NRC together with the logistics manager with external parties such as suppliers, partners, other aid organizations.

Requirements and Qualifications

Generic professional competencies:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience from working as a Logistic Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal

Context related skills, knowledge and experience:

  • University degree in Supply Chain or a relevant subject.
  • Knowledge and experience of main donors” logistics policies.
  • Knowledge of Logistics Management in the Middle East, particularly Palestine and Israel.

This position is Grade (07) Step (01). Salary & Benefits are based on Gaza Duty Station.

Reports to: Logistics Manager.

Contract Duration: 12 months renewable, based on the need of position, funding and performance.
