Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs.
The Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Section of Transplant Hepatology is hiring one Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join our team in the care of Post-Liver Transplant patients. The primary role for this position is long term follow up and management of patients who have successfully undergone a liver transplant and have completed their initial recovery period. This provider will manage immune suppression, complications of transplant related medications, metabolic syndrome and recurrent liver disease in the new liver allograft. General Hepatology clinic will make up approximately 2.5 days of the week and includes seeing new and established patients for conditions such as elevated liver biochemistries, fatty liver, viral hepatitis, genetic liver conditions and compensated/decompensated cirrhotics. The primary location for this position will be Main Campus, regional sites can be considered based on patient and department needs. Some paracentesis clinic coverage is possible based on candidate interest and department needs. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, functions well as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and is flexible in work assignments. The shift for this position is Mon-Fri 8-5 with unlikely need for holiday/weekend coverage. Candidates with relatable experience (Hepatology, Transplant, GI, etc…) are preferred.
Weekly Schedule:
2 days of long-term clinic (post transplant)
2.5 days of general hepatology clinic, this will be switched to pre or post in future should it be needed and depending on liver transplant program volume. This can be switched to Paracentesis time once a month.

Effective 05/01/2014: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.
PA
Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program.
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
