Departmental responsibilities include training of medical students, residents in both OB/GYN and Family Practice and providing superior general obstetrical clinical and supervisory services. The role includes serving as the Regional Medical Director for outpatient services. The Regional Medical Director provides physician leadership in collaboration with management to optimize Acclaim Physician Group practice structure, functions and activities. In addition, aligning and integrating with the strategic, clinical, and other operational goals and processes of the JPS Health Network. We provide services and support for women who are seeking prenatal care, childbirth services and well-woman care at every stage of life.

Acclaim’s Women’s and Infants Service Line at John Peter Smith Hospital is a robust multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice professionals who are dedicated to meeting the complete health care needs of women in our community. We provide services and support for women at every stage of life, including but not limited to preventative health care, low and high risk prenatal/childbirth/postnatal care, menopause care, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology evaluation and treatment. Our physicians provide 24 hour in house inpatient hospital coverage and we deliver and average of 4, 500 babies a year.

• 11 Generalist Obstetricians and Gynecologists
• 1 Gynecologic Oncologist
• 1 Hematologist
• 2 Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists
• 1 Urogynecologist
• 27 Advanced Practice Providers
• 17 OBGYN Residents

In addition to the nourishing and rewarding clinical atmosphere, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs. This physician will be part of a team of providers teaching and pre-cepting residents and medical students. 

Overview

Provide services and support for women who are seeking prenatal care, childbirth services, and well-woman care at every stage of life. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the full time OBGYN Physician will be responsible for the training of medical students and residents in both OBGYN and Family Practice, providing superior general obstetrical clinical and supervisory services. Shift coverage includes Outpatient Clinic and Labor and Delivery. 

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an approved college of Medicine/Osteopathy

Prior graduate academic or resident faculty experience strongly preferred.

A Minimum of 5 years of direct OB/GYN experience

Required Licensures/Certification

Board certified in specialty
