Positions and Qualifications

We sincerely invite outstanding talents of all levels in biomedical frontier research from well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad to join us as independent Principal Investigators (PIs). Specific research areas include oncology/cancer, infectious diseases, neurological diseases, systems biology, computational biology, chemical biology, etc.

Applicants at junior and senior levels are both welcomed.

The basic qualifications for Junior PIs are:

1. Possession of a Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral research experience;
2. Academic achievements comparable to those of an assistant professor or equivalent position at renowned universities/research institutions in China or overseas;
3. Recognized innovative research capabilities within the academic field;
4. The ability to conduct independent research and potential for obtaining tenure positions;

The basic qualifications for Senior PIs are:

1. Possession of a tenured professor position or equivalent positions in well-known universities or research institutions at home and abroad;
2. Recognized academic achievements and contributions;
3. Evidence of international reputation and influence;
4. Excellence in teaching graduate classes and mentorship of young researchers;
5. Ability to lead the development of disciplines or catch up with the international advanced level.

Job Responsibilities

1. Follow the basic goals and development plans of SZBL, independently lead research groups to conduct innovative scientific research.
2. Independently apply for various scientific research projects and funds.
3. Manage research groups, and guide the research work of associate researchers, assistant researchers, postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, etc.
4. Mentor graduate students and teach graduate courses;
5. Actively participate in relevant activities of SZBL, including academic conferences, talent recruitment, and external exchanges and cooperation.
