Outreach Manager

We are looking for a passionate and committed Outreach Manager to join the Admissions, Marketing and Outreach (AMO) team at LSA, supporting LSA in its mission to diversify the screen industries. The goals of the AMO team are to ensure that all young people, particularly those who have traditionally been underrepresented within the creative industries, have the information they need to make an informed decision that LSA is the right school for them to begin their careers in the screen industries.

Purpose of the job

The purpose of this role to to help the Admissions team engage and inspire young people, especially UEG (underrepresented ethnic groups) and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds, to consider LSA for their Level 3 or Level 4 qualifications. The Outreach Manager will identify and connect with relevant schools and community groups that can feed into the LSA talent pipeline, creating further engagement opportunities within LSA. To be successful in this role, you will be confident in delivering compelling presentations, assemblies and talks to young people, teachers, careers advisors and industry professionals. You will be passionate about every aspect of diversity and have a strong knowledge of routes into the screen industries.

Job Requirements

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop an Outreach Strategy, informed by data
  • Develop and enhance existing relationships with relevant community groups, schools and other organisations where prospective students can be identified
  • Develop a series of half term and summer holiday workshops to engage underrepresented groups in film and television
  • Create, organise and lead on a range of on-site and off-site events, to introduce young people from underrepresented groups to the film and TV industry
  • Research and develop relationships with external parties that have a national remit, e.g. Speaker’s for Schools
  • Systematically assess data from the DfE, local authorities and other sources to enhance ability to identify prospective students from our target demographics
  • Regularly update databases and data tracking
  • Regularly report back and update various stakeholders and the organisation
  • Manage a small team, including Alumni Ambassadors
  • Have a knowledge of safeguarding and adopt best practice
