Position Summary: Paramedic

To respond to requests by the nursing staff or Physician staff assisting with emergency care within the Emergency Department according to protocols and polices approved by the Emergency Department Medical Director, and CMC hospital policy. Performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training. Carries out functions consistent with total quality management.

Emergency Room Department:

• American College of Surgeons Level 3 Trauma Center
• Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center
• Cardiac Center of Excellence
• Working as a team to providing critical lifesaving care to patients of all ages. Rapid assessment and treatment. Critical thinking, Self-Motivation, and being a Team Player are a must.

WORK SCHEDULE: 

• Work schedule may include 8-12 hours per day with weekend coverage based on individual unit needs.
• Personnel are expected to cover for absences by rotating or working extra shifts.
• Patient care positions are assigned to one area upon employment, but may be required to assume assignments in other areas to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of paramedicine.

Experience:

• A minimum of two years pre-hospital EMS experience at the paramedic level preferred.
• Demonstrates competence as a paramedic and has a commitment to continuing professional development.
• Each applicant will be assessed individually.

Licensure/ Certification:

• Current licensure with the State of New Hampshire as an EMT-Paramedic, or National Registered Paramedic with the capability to become New Hampshire licensed within 30 days.
• ACLS, PALS, and CPR certified within 90 days of employment.
