Job Description

Instructors are expected to take part in regularly scheduled instructional meetings, professional development, and training and submit paperwork promptly. Classes are typically held for 8–9 weeks for 2.5 or 3 hours. Times are 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–9 p.m., and times will vary at different locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Additional schedules may become available. Experience in teaching English as a Second Language or English as a Foreign Language.

Teach English as a Second Language, English Literacy Civics, and/or Citizenship Preparation to adult learners with emphasis on the following skills:

• listening
• reading
• writing
• communicative grammar
• workplace skills

Citizenship classes will also incorporate the following:

• US holidays
• US history and government
• Civic Engagement
• Important persons

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university; experience teaching English as a Second Language or English as a Foreign Language.

Salary Range

$23.00 – $30.00 Hourly
