About the position: Solar photovoltaic devices are a rapidly growing contributor to global renewable energy production. Continued growth requires a constant injection of new ideas and advancements. This Ph.D project is centered around the development of materials-based approaches for advanced “carrier-selective” contacts for single junction and tandem solar cells.

Required:

·      First-class (H1 or equivalent) bachelor or masters degree from a high-ranking university.

·      English proficiency: IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6 in each component. TOFEL: An overall score of 80 with a minimum of 20 in reading and writing and 18 in speaking and listening.

Desired:

·      A peer-reviewed publication record.

·      Experience delivering scientific presentations.

About the group: Sustainable Energy and Environmental Devices Lab is a research group, headed by Dr. James Bullock, within the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne. This group draws from disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Chemistry working on topics such as photovoltaics, light sources, 2D materials and photodetectors.
