Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works division is seeking Electrical Wiring Installation Design Engineers (Associate, Experienced) for advanced proprietary programs located at our Berkeley, Missouri site.

Successful candidates will develop air vehicle electrical wire harness configuration and routing installation designs using Siemens NX 3-D Computer Aided Design tools, Teamcenter Visualization and/or other design methods to provide and coordinate product definition for Integrated Product Teams, various engineering functions, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for the development, maintenance and release of 3-D engineering models and Build-to-Packages (BTP) using Teamcenter product data manager (PDM) for electrical wire harness definition and routing as well as support hardware models. The candidate will utilize Teamcenter as a master database and configuration control method for new and evolving designs of electrical wire harness installations. The candidate will develop, maintain and release electrical installation designs and engineering documentation by applying company, industry and government standards. Candidate will ensure compliance with requirements, standards and applicable regulatory authority and maintain the integrity of the engineering product.

Position requires strong written communication skills, oral and listening skills, presentation skills and the ability to work well with a variety of customer, supplier and internal team members. The candidate will perform assignments under the direction of senior/lead engineer and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops designs, releases and maintains air vehicle wire harness routing, installation and support detail engineering
  • Supports analysis and design reviews
  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
  • Supports the development of statements of work
  • Works under close mentorship

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate and Experienced.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • 3D CAD design experience
  • Experience designing electrical wire harness installations using 3D/CAD modeling tools

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Experience with Siemens NX modeling and routing tools
  • Experience using product data management (PDM) tools such as Teamcenter
  • Familiarity with Mentor Capital Wiring Design tools
  • Experience in applying 3D Model Based Definition principles as part of the design process
  • The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working with multiple disciplines to plan, execute and release electrical system installation and wire harness engineering.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Bachelor’s degree and typically 2 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Experienced (Level 3):

Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Summary pay range for Associate level: $81,600-$110,400

Summary pay range for Experienced: $97,750-$132,250
