South Shore Hospital is Southeastern Massachusetts’s leading provider of emergency, acute and outpatient care, with Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, etc. The Pharmacist serves as a clinical drug information resource to Providers, Nursing staff and other departments. Participates in multi-disciplinary clinical rounds on patient units and provides clinical information to medical staff. Reviews medication orders and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications to inpatients, emergency room and ambulatory clinics. Maintains standards set by the department and adheres to policies and procedures of the Pharmacy to meet the standards of Joint Commission. Oversees the Pharmacy Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding processes. Assists in Quality and Safety improvement initiatives under direction of the Pharmacy Administration Team.
