This position will also have weekend and holiday responsibilities. The hours are subject to change based on the business needs of the department. As a Pharmacist at UPMC St. Margaret, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to our patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective medication management, educate patients and healthcare professionals, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of our community.

Responsibilities:

• Review and manage patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and duplications.

• Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly.

• Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient care.

• Prepare and dispense IV solutions using aseptic techniques.

• Organize daily tasks and supervise pharmacy staff.

• Fill prescription orders following State and Federal regulations.

• Use technology (e.g., computer systems, Acu-Dose, Robot-Rx) to provide pharmaceutical care.

• Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and students.

• Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear orders.

• Maintain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary drugs and promoting rational drug therapy.

• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

• B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy required.

• 3-6 months hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

• Previous experience or familiarity with investigational drug control procedures and protocol design is preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
