We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our dynamic and growing team to oversee the daily operations in one of three Oncology/Specialty Infusion Centers on the North Central Coast. This role requires a strong understanding of sterile compounding, chemotherapy preparation, regulatory compliance, and inventory management. This is a pivotal role, responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care to our patients. Dignity Health is the only program on the Central Coast to offer comprehensive Cancer Care services. Our pharmacists work closely with our Medical Oncologists, community physicians and Oncology Nursing staff to provide optimal care and outcomes to the patients we serve.
In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy the Infusion Center Senior Pharmacist is responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, distributing, storing and administration of chemotherapeutic and specialty medications according to standard practices following State and Federal laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures.
The Senior Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of drug information to other health care professionals, patients, their families and the public. Functions as a staff pharmacist and acts as the Manager/Director of Pharmacy in the absence of the Director. The Senior Pharmacist supervises and instructs pharmacists and technicians and will be consulted by the manager/director when pharmacy staff performance evaluations are prepared. Under the direct supervision of the Manager/Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the total operation of the pharmacy in the absence of the Manager/Director. Essentially operates as a staff pharmacist with the additional responsibility of the clinical, distribution, and regulatory operations of the Infusion Pharmacy Department. Responsible for staff functions when working an operational shift. Directly responsible to the Manager/Director of Pharmacy.
