Responsibilites

Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for our Lourdes Digestive Care Practice. 

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Lourdes to provide GI medical services to patients in the Binghamton area and surrounding communities.

Position Highlights:

• Practice site is located right on the hospital campus, easily accessible to the OR and state-of-the-art GI Suite.
• Work alongside four experienced gastroenterologists and four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a collaborative office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. 
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for GI medical diagnoses. 
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which includes participating in a call schedule for Lourdes Digestive Care patients.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Physician MD/DO Board certified and credentialed from the New York Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Credentialing Office will verify licensing.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) is required. ERCP training preferred but not required.

Additional Preferences

Salary Range:

• $440k-$540k depending on training and experience.
