ITI – the Information Technology Industry Council – is the premier advocacy and policy organization for the world’s leading innovation companies.  ITI is seeking a Policy Fellow to join our European Policy team. This opportunity is located at ITI’s EU office in Brussels, Belgium.  ITI is committed to attracting creative, talented, and energetic team members who represent the diverse communities that they advocate for.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy proposals in the EU as well as related events
  • Assist in drafting fact sheets, position papers, letters, comments, and other written materials for policymakers.
  • Assist in the drafting of strategic recommendations and other written products for ITI members
  • Assist in the dissemination of ITI’s advocacy material
  • Support the drafting of ITI’s monthly policy updates and other internal or external updates
  • Attend and produce summaries of the monthly ITI membership Committee as well as external events if needed 
  • Providing meeting support for internal and external events, including meeting promotion, recruitment, confirmation and follow up, and meeting logistics and operations.
  • Maintaining and regularly updating the Europe team submissions to the ITI policy tracker spreadsheet. 
  • Maintain tracking sheets for policy developments, industry contacts, and other data as necessary.  
  • Collect material, ideas and produce drafts for ITI’s monthly Europe Newsletter.

Requirements

  • You must be an EU national.
  • Minimum six months to one year of experience in EU affairs, either in EU Institutions (e.g. Blue Book Demonstrated interest and knowledge of technology policy or EU affairs.etc.) and national government, or in private sector.
  • Familiarity with the EU Institutional setting and the Brussels context is required. University Degree in law, political science, public policy, international affairs/relations, economics, technology policy (e.g., privacy, cybersecurity,…), business, or other related field.
  • Significant exposure to relevant policy issues.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in French, German or another EU language preferred.

Time Frame:

  • 6-month contract under the CIP framework, with possibility of an additional 6 month renewal
