About the role
As a Policy and Research Analyst, you will conduct proactive financial sector and economic research and assess the impact on CDIC’s mandate, its member institutions and the deposit insurance framework.

  • Ability to assess and synthesize complex information and identify policy implications for CDIC mandate.
  • Ability to undertake thorough analysis and provide sound arguments to support policy development and recommendations for management.
  • Ability to communicate complex information verbally and in writing.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and timelines and adjust work style and output accordingly.
  • Ability to work independently and be able to exercise judgment.
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills to interact with team members, other CDIC groups, as well as other financial safety-net players.
  • Intellectual curiosity to remain current with developments in the financial sector and seek answers, including identifying potential areas for further research and analysis.

We trust you will bring your expertise

  • A Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, public administration, or a degree in law.
  • Experience with policy analysis and policy development would be an asset.
  • The Canadian financial sector, including the mandates and responsibilities of the financial safety-net agencies.
  • Major policy and regulatory issues in the financial sector.
  • General trends and challenges in the financial sector.
  • International organizations such as the Financial Stability Board, the International Association of Deposit Insurers, and the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision will be considered an asset.
