2.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

(SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL BE DETERMINED UPON ASSUMPTION OF THE POSITION)

Under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences:

• Responsible for the teaching work of the Faculty, enacting the educational development strategy for undergraduate and graduate students in relate disciplines of the Faculty and organizing the implementation thereof, etc.
• Responsible for the scientific research work of the Faculty, including the pursuit and management of scientific research tasks, scientific research ethics, and safety management, etc.
• Responsible for the construction of a high-level faculty team, vigorously introducing and cultivating high-level talents, etc.
• Responsible for industry-academia-research work, promoting cooperation with industries related to this discipline, and serving the construction of the life and health field at the national and local levels, etc.
• Other related tasks assigned by the university leaders and the Dean of the Faculty.

2.2 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Identify with the educational and construction philosophy of Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology.
• Have held management positions such as vice-president, dean, academic dean, or department head in well-known universities at home and abroad.
• Those who have obtained or are eligible for tenure-track professorship are preferred.

2.1 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, fully responsible for the undergraduate and graduate teaching work of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, enacting the educational development strategy for the Faculty’s related disciplines, and organizing the implementation thereof.
• Focus on interdisciplinary innovation, actively promote the educational construction and teaching reform of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, innovate talent training. models, improve the quality of talent training, cultivate outstanding talents with international vision and extremely strong professional and vocational qualities, and build a high-level base for the output of high-end pharmaceutical and medical talents in China.

FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND CONTROL ENGINEERING

1. FACULTY INTRODUCTION

Focusing on the forefront of world science and technology and responding to major national strategic needs, the Faculty of Computer Science and Control Engineering serves the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the information technology industry in Shenzhen, and practices the concept of “New Engineering”. The Faculty practices the new engineering concept featuring “Computing +X”, promote the reform of engineering education and cultivate international, innovative and interdisciplinary talents, It aims to build a domestically first-class and world-renowned computer science and technology major within a decade, serving the strategic needs of the nation, industry, and local development, with dynamic optimization and distinctive features.

The Faculty of Computer Science and Control Engineering is currently dedicated to recruiting high-level overseas talent and has established a high-level, multi-disciplinary and internationally influential teaching team, more than 80% of whom possess overseas teaching and research experience.

The core team includes 4 overseas academicians, 8 national high-level talents, 1 national distinguished young scholar, 2 recipients of the National “May Day” Labor Medal, and 2 enjoying special allowances of the State Council.

The current research in the Faculty has produced remarkable outputs. The ongoing research projects feature distinctive interdisciplinary collaboration and have excellent capabilities of output transformation. In the past 3 years, it has undertaken 41 research projects with a total funding of RMB 140 million, In the past 3 years, the Faculty focuses on basic theories and key technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, data fusion, biological information, computer system structure, and computing theory. Relevant articles have been published in top academic journals and conferences including Nature Medicine, Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Communication, Lancet Microbe, VLDB, ICDE, LEEE Transactions on Services Computing, ACM Computing Surveys, ACM SIGMOD, Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, etc. Furthermore, it has won numerous scientific and technological awards, including the Second Prize of Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence, the First Prize of Shanghai Technical Invention, the First Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress, the Second Prize of Shenzhen Technical Invention, and the Second Prize of Shenzhen Science and Technology Progress.

FACULTY OF SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY

1. FACULTY INTRODUCTION

The Faculty of Synthetic Biology (FSB) is one of the six founding faculties of SUAT co-established with the Institute of Synthetic Biology (iSynBio), Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. FSB and iSynBio share their resources and coordinate their research programs. FSB possesses an outstanding cohort of internationally renowned faculty members and houses the world’s largest Research Facility for Synteitic Biology (Biofoundry), among other first-class research and teaching facilities, and deeply involves in building of the National Biomanufacturing Industry Innovation Center and the Key Laboratory of Synthetic Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. FSB aims to become a national center for the training of young talents in biological sciences and related interdisciplinary fields, a key center for research and innovation in synthetic biology in China, and a base for popular science and international cooperation.

• A doctoral degree, qualified for a tenured professorship, and fluent in English.
