Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or any related subjects. Expertise and rich experience in operations research or operations management (e.g., theory and applications of optimization, game theory, stochastic modeling, and systems simulation) are necessary. Knowledge of computer programming and prior experience in the design of optimization tools are necessary. Strong publication records and experience in preparing research proposals are advantageous. Knowledge and experience of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques and domain knowledge in transportation, logistics, and/or healthcare management are beneficial.

The appointee will work in a research group of Dr. Y.H. Kuo on significant research projects that apply operations research and operations management techniques to solve real-world problems in the domains of transportation, logistics, and/or healthcare management, assist in preparing research proposals, and educate students and users in the projects on the theories developed, the applications tackled, and/or research outcomes.
