We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Associate Professor Jelena Bezbradica Mirkovic, at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology (KIR), within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Science.

You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines, you will adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols, as well as contrubte ideas for new research projects.

You will hold, or be near completion of a relevant PhD/DPhil, as well as possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the field of inflammasome signalling in macrophages, the biology of TBK1, and inflammasome-driven cell death, as evidenced by first-author papers and reviews in reputable immunology journals. You will have the ability to manager your own academic research and associated activities, and experience in organising events to communicate research. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present research results in national and international conferences, with some evidence of peer recognition (e.g. talk/poster awards) is essential. Experience in microscopy analysis of macrophage signalling and advanced biochemistry methods is desiered.

This is a fixed-term, full time position until 30/04/2024.
