The Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering department seeks to transform healthcare worldwide through interdisciplinary engineering innovation and to train future leaders and innovators in biomedical engineering.
Carnegie Mellon University is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Zheng lab. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by spearheading the development of an in vitro system that replicates the function of the human organs from inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). This cutting-edge project aims to advance our understanding of physiology and enhance human cell production. The candidate will play a pivotal role in differentiating iPSCs into epithelial cell progenitors, engineering an organ-on-a-chip system to model physiology, and optimizing the system for efficient human cell generation.
Your core responsibilities will include:

Collecting and analyzing data, including periodical/literature search, and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.

Conducting research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of the department and university.

Participating in and assisting in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field with a strong background in stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and/or microfluidics.
