Position Highlights The Water Resiliency Program at the University of Arizona, Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (ChEE) is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The successful applicant will perform research on the water-energy nexus for solar enabled inland desalination under the direction of Associate Professor Kerri Hickenbottom.The successful applicant should have a background in membrane processes for water and wastewater treatment and a comprehensive, system-level understanding of the interplay between water and energy systems. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform modeling work on solar enabled desalination.
- Integrate established databases into the model using Python.
- Participate in Water Reuse Consortium meetings.
- Oversee components of management of the laboratory.
- Foster collaborations within the Department, with other units across the University, and with team members at other institutes.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in grant writing, including generating preliminary data, submitting grant applications, and preparing progress reports.
- Additional duties as assigned.

- Strong analysis skills, research, and technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory management.
- Ability to communicate professionally in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
- Exceptional organizational and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Environmental Engineering.
- Selected applicant must have PhD conferred upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience using Python.
- Previous history of published research in peer-reviewed journals.
