Job Summary
Job Description
Salary: £25,600 for 28 hours/week
Two year, fixed term contract
Starting date: from October 2025
The successful candidate will be a pro-active and knowledgeable postdoctoral researcher, whose expertise in the histories of sculpture will complement that of the Research Team at the Henry Moore Institute, and will form a key element of our public programmes. You will be able to demonstrate a range of research, writing and communication skills, and will be comfortable working both as part of the Research Team and independently. A current institutional affiliation is not necessary for the post.
You will be expected to deliver a specific research project within the two-year term, relating to the post-holder’s area of specialism, which we anticipate will form part of the Institute’s public programme. It is expected that the candidate’s project will engage with under-represented areas of research, expanding both academic and non-specialist understanding of the histories of sculpture. The candidate will be based within the Henry Moore Institute’s Research Team, and will contribute to the development and delivery of our public programme of exhibitions, lectures, conferences and seminars.
Our successful candidate will have completed or be due to submit a PhD in Art History or a related subject. You will have a detailed knowledge of sculpture and its histories and will demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusivity. You will have excellent organisation and communication skills and will be able to organise their workload and remain calm under pressure.
- A completed application form
- A 500 word research proposal summary
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a complete research proposal of around 1,500 words comprising a 1000 word research proposal and a 500 word timeline and strategy.
