Job Details

Department of Pathology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY

The Verma Laboratory in the Department of Pathology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows to join a dynamic, fully funded research program investigating how environmental exposures and inflammation drive hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction, clonal hematopoiesis, and the development of blood and prostate cancers.

Our research bridges basic, translational, and clinical studies to uncover mechanisms linking inflammation, DNA damage, and stem cell aging to cancer initiation and progression. Using murine and humanized models, human patient samples, single-cell multiomics (CITE-seq), advanced flow cytometry, proteomics, and mechanistic studies, we aim to identify therapeutic targets within inflammatory pathways. We are also testing novel investigational drugs targeting inflammatory pathways in preclinical models and early-phase clinical trials, providing an exceptional opportunity for translational impact.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in molecular biology, hematology, immunology, prostate biology or a related field. Experience with mouse models, stem cell assays, single-cell or omics data, or cancer biology is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Einstein offers a highly collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities, mentorship, and career development resources. The laboratory is fully supported by federal and institutional funding, ensuring a stable and resource-rich research setting.
