Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s ( ) Nuclear Science Division ( ) has an opening for a Heavy Element Postdoctoral Scholar to join the team.In this role, you will conduct experimental research studying the chemical properties of the heaviest elements using nuclear physics techniques. These experiments will be performed at the 88-inch cyclotron facility utilizing the Berkeley Gas-filled Separator (BGS) and FIONA devices to help determine the placement of these elusive elements on the periodic table.As a member of the NSD Heavy Element program, you will contribute to a dynamic and collaborative research team, actively engaging in studying both the physics and chemistry of these exotic systems. You will also contribute to our efforts towards potentially discovering a new element.
