JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Department of Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in the research lab under the direction of Dr. Donghai Wang.Key job duties for the Postdoctoral Scholar include:
- Participate in the research program to develop advanced materials for lithium and lithium-ion batteries
- Publish results in reputed journals; prepare reports; present research in conferences
- Write proposals to funding agencies
- Mentor Ph.D., MS, and undergraduate students
This is a limited-term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of re-funding.Education and Qualifications:
- Ph.D., by the hire date, in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline.
- Evidence of scholastic and academic excellence in the following areas of expertise:
- Synthesis of inorganic and Organic Materials
- Materials Characterization
- Electrochemistry
- Battery and Fuel Cell Technology
- Evidence of leadership abilities
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
