Education: Bachelor’s degreeA leading design consultancy is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer based in New York.Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams and drive successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and team members.
  • Oversee design drawings, specifications, and project deliverables.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Direct multiple projects, ensuring financial success.
  • Maintain high standards of technical quality and industry advancements.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering practices, policies, and building codes.
  • Contribute to profitable project delivery, monitoring financial performance.

Technical Expertise:

  • 15+ years in Mechanical Engineering design within building services and construction.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of building codes and mechanical design principles.
  • Successful project delivery across various sectors and regions.
  • Excellent knowledge of HVAC and other MEP systems, providing effective solutions.
  • Experience in high-performance building design and impact on carbon footprint.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or equivalent certification.
  • LEED AP accreditation preferred.
  • Familiarity with software like Revit, CFD, and energy modeling tools.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in an MEP Engineering Consultancy or related field.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and deadlines.
  • Independent worker with the flexibility to collaborate in a team.
  • Expertise in mentoring junior engineers.
  • Business development and client relationship management skills are an advantage.
