Job Summary:
Serves as a VTIS technical expert at all Extended Shelf Life (ESL) facilities within HP Hood LLC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Continuously evaluates the existing VTIS process control systems for reliability and effectiveness.
- Works closely with both maintenance and operation departments at HP Hood LLC’s ESL facilities to build and maintain proper PM program, site to site communications, maintenance and operation SOPs.
- Provides technical support on process controls systems and process control related tasks with the VTIS at each ESL facility.
- Works with Plant and Engineering Team on implementation of new and upgrade VTIS projects including configuring control modules, batch programs, and HMIs, program modifications. Acts as a resource for the Plant and Engineering team during design, layout, equipment selection, FAT and startup.
- Continually improves process control systems through Advanced Process Control, Alarm Management, and Operator Interface Optimization.
- Responsible for appropriate programing on the VTIS control panel.
- Works with plant maintenance and operations to troubleshoot, repair and maintain VTIS equipment.
- Fabrication, innovation and modification of new and existing equipment.
- Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
- Trains operators on newly installed or modified process control systems for both individual and group training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Associate’s degree in Engineering, 10 year(s) of related experience, or equivalent combination of each.
- 5+ years Food/ beverage processing experience is required.
- Travel 50-70% of time.
- Based in Winchester/Batavia/Sacramento
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong and comprehensive knowledge of VTIS and Alsafe processing systems.
- Strong and comprehensive knowledge of PLC5, RS Logix, Panelview.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, fluid transfer, heat transfer, safety, instrumentation and distributed control systems.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, blue print reading skills, organizational skills, strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required.
- Ability to develop a high performance team by providing leadership, support, feedback, and by encouraging personal growth.
- Has the ability to present and training information to teach others.
