Position description
An experienced Product Owner with a strong technical background to lead the development and delivery of digital learning solutions for the *Can’t Wait to Learn* project. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, educators, and stakeholders, to ensure the successful execution of the project’s vision. You will play a key role in translating the needs of our beneficiaries into a digital product that meets educational goals and is scalable across different contexts.
Project Overview:
The *Can’t Wait to Learn* (CWTL) project is a pioneering initiative that leverages technology to deliver high-quality education to children in conflict-affected areas. The project uses digital game-based learning to provide children with access to effective and engaging educational resources, even in challenging environments.
Your Mission:
- Product Strategy & Vision: Define the product vision and strategy in alignment with the goals of the CWTL project, focusing on delivering educational value through innovative technology.
- Backlog Management: Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features, improvements, and bug fixes in collaboration with the development team.
- Agile/Scrum Practices: Lead agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, etc.) and ensure efficient use of Scrum principles.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment on product goals and delivery timelines.
- User-Centric Design: Ensure the product is designed with the end-user in mind, collaborating with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and accessible interfaces.
- Technical Oversight: Liaise with the technical team to ensure product requirements are feasible and align with the project’s technical constraints.
- Tools Management: Leverage project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Figma, and MS Office to ensure smooth product development and communication.
Your Profile:
- Technical Background: Strong technical foundation in IT, with the ability to understand and contribute to technical discussions with developers.
- Experience: At least 5+ years of proven experience in product management, preferably with digital products in gamedev, education or NGO sectors.
- Agile Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks, with hands-on experience leading agile teams.
- Tools Expertise: Proficient in Jira, Confluence, Miro, Figma, and MS Office Suite.
- Languages: Proficiency in Ukrainian and English at a professional level (both written and spoken).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional and remote teams.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex challenges in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the humanitarian or non-profit sector.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms, educational technology, or game-based learning.
- Experience with user research and testing in conflict-affected environments.
- Experience in Game Development
- Experience with AI and/or ML

Preference is given to applicants who reside and have valid working permits. War Child does not offer relocation.
