This position is responsible for Direct Service Program monitoring of budgets vs actual expenses for various programs/grants, grant reports preparation and communication with program directors to ensure adherence to grant, state and federal guidelines. Provides Direct Service Program support and internal quality control including budget auditing for Direct Service Programs. Serves as liaison between the Sr. VP of Direct Services, Senior Management team, and the Finance Divison.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill):
Must have experience working with financial statements, general ledgers, and accounting software and principals. Have problem solving aptitude, flexible and works well as part of a team.
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of extensive training and/or experience in accounting and financial modifications, program reporting and financial systems.
Familiarity with accounting software, knowledge of databases & ability to write data extraction queries.
Proficiency of Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills required.
Review program award terms and conditions for policy and reporting compliance. Summarize reporting schedule and discuss any unique requirements with program managers.
Develop, use and evaluate Direct Service Program budgets.
Read, interpret, and use financial statements, general ledgers, external audits, & accounting software systems.
Ensure all program budgets are provided to Finance and ensure all budgets appear in the accounting system.
Understand and comply with internal control procedures.
Monitor key performance indicators, management level reporting, and other financial oversight responsibilities that come with working at large non-profit organization.
Strong attention to detail, including ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple priorities required.
Perform direct services program monitoring for day-to day budget planning, financial analysis and consultation, financial reporting, contract management, and general accounting functions.
Generate and analyze financial reports as required on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure PathStone Direct Services Management Team, department leaders, and executive leadership understand and are up to date on the division’s financial performance.
Answer financial questions from Direct Services program staff by researching and interpreting data.
Review ledgers for individual grants and other funding streams, ensuring costs are qualified for the applicable grant and generating billings to grantors.
Develop financial materials that are easy understandable to a variety of audiences.
Demonstrate proficiency with technology and the ability to recognize and take advantage of software features and enhancements.
Possess general knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles.
