About the role

The Pulitzer Center seeks a dynamic program leader to execute public programming that amplifies the impact of our journalists’ work and strengthens connections with communities across the United States. As Program Manager – Outreach, you’ll design and lead diverse community-facing initiatives—from expert convenings to film festivals to grassroots partnerships—that bring critical global issues into local conversations and expand our reach into underrepresented regions and communities.

This role combines strategic partnership development with hands-on program execution. You’ll cultivate relationships with community organizations, cultural institutions, and media outlets while overseeing the operational details that make programming successful. You’ll also lead monitoring and evaluation efforts to ensure our outreach work drives meaningful impact, and you’ll mentor an Outreach Coordinator, building team capacity as we scale our community engagement.

If you’re energized by connecting journalism to public discourse, building authentic community partnerships, and creating programming that meets people where they are, this role offers significant autonomy to innovate while contributing to an organization known for supporting some of the world’s most important reporting.
