Background

The Enterprise Application Development (EAD) unit of the Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for developing sustainable and affordable IT solutions to meet UNOV/UNODC requirements, also enabling availability of the solutions more generally across the UN Secretariat entities.
 

Job Purpose and Organizational Context
 
The India Technology Hub (ITH/EAD) based in New Delhi forms part of the ITS’s vital delivery pillars. It keeps up with the UN’s revised ICT strategy. As part of this strategy and under the Head – ITH; the Project Analyst will work with a team of highly motivated software development professionals on various applications – development, enhancements, management, and deployment tasks.

 
Duties and Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Team leader and Chief based in Vienna, Austria, the Project Analyst will be responsible for the following duties: 
  • Develop and execute a strategy for software deliveries, attracting and onboarding deserving and qualified software developers and creative artists. 
  • Ensure successful program management and co-ordination between internal teams for an engaging experience for our partners; 
  • To enable and support team members in the utilization of new technologies and learning materials; 
  • Understand the requirements of stakeholders, and build POCs for their review and engagement; 
  • Define deliverables, and their timelines and monitor the progress of software development teams; 
  • Manage the day-to-day interaction with the stakeholders; 
  • Ensure tight management of milestones and progress of ongoing software development projects; 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their technology requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Analyze existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions. 
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to the organization. 
  • Evaluate and recommend software, hardware, and other technology solutions based on cost, feasibility, and alignment with business needs. 
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper integration, testing, and deployment of technology solutions. 
  • Facilitate technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users, addressing system issues, errors, and performance concerns.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system specifications, user guides, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on technology solutions and promote efficient utilization. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience 
 
Education:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from a recognized university.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three (3) years (with a Master’s degree), or a minimum of five (5) years (with a Bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national and/or international level in digital technologies for development and/or education sector
  • Understanding of Gender and Inclusion and its incorporation in content is strongly desirable
  • Experience in Data, Analysis and Knowledge Management is desirable.
  • Liasioning experience with government and multi-lateral agencies would be an asset.
Language:
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is required.
