The vacancy

Status: Part time (17.5 hours per week), Permanent

We are looking for an exceptional individual with the drive and commitment to
support the delivery of the vision for the Scottish Forum on Natural Capital.

Natural capital can be defined as the world’s stocks of natural assets which include geology,
soil, air, water and all living things.

It is from this natural capital that humans derive a wide range of services, often called
ecosystem services, which make human life possible.

The Scottish Forum on Natural Capital is a network of communities of practice around natural
capital in Scotland, working closely with the Scottish Government and NatureScot (Scotland’s
nature delivery agency) and a mix of expert advisors, those delivering nature-based solutions
and those enabling nature market infrastructure to foster shared understanding and promote
delivery of natural capital mechanisms and solutions.

Under the umbrella of the Forum, we have Hubs and Networks: four Hubs concentrating on the
Natural Capital topics of Finance, Land Management, Marine, and Digital; and two additional
networks (offshoot Exploration Zones) considering Community Benefits and International Nature
Finance.

We are now looking for someone to drive this network forward on a day-to-day basis, providing
the secretariat function, promoting strong programme management, coordinating stakeholder
involvement and keeping up-to-date with latest developments in the field.

If you have experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment, excellent communication
skills, a proven track record of achieving results and a sound understanding of this rapidly
evolving area, we would love to hear from you.

Closing date for applications: 18th October 2024

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is a proud equal opportunities employer and welcomes
applications from all candidates irrespective of their background. We are committed to helping
to make the world of nature conservation as inclusive as possible, as we believe there should
be no barriers to being involved, and that champions and role models from every part of society
will be vital in helping to reverse the loss of biodiversity.
