Job description 

The successful candidate will have a number of main responsibilities, including supporting the project execution of Eurocadres and contributing to our policy work.  

 The main tasks include organisation of events related to our projects, coordination of outputs (i.e. research articles) with external experts and steering committees, project reporting and administrative tasks. Time dependent, the successful candidate will familiarise themselves with EU project applications. 

 The successful candidate will support the policy work of Eurocadres, including the monitoring of developments in policy areas relevant to Professionals and Managers. Other tasks will include writing opinions and positions of Eurocadres in cooperation with its political bodies, and other tasks to support our advocacy efforts throughout Europe. The policy areas will focus on (but are not limited to) the following: 

 Digital policy and algorithmic management 

  • Competition policy 
  • Skills and research policy 

 Profile 

Required 

  • Aligned with the objectives and politics of trade unionism  
  • Creative, motivated, open-minded, proactive and eager to learn 
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English 
  • Excellent writing skills 
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail  
  • Strong interpersonal skills 

Desirable 

  • Additional European languages, in particular French, Italian, Spanish, and/or German 
  • Knowledge of European policy making 
  • Relevant education and experience in EU affairs and project management 
  • Experience in managing project budgets and deadlines  
  • Experience in trade union work. Experience in NGOs or student organisations are also relevant 
  • Experience in developing policy paper

 Contract details 

We offer a temporary contract of 4 months with compensation “convention d’immersion professionnelle” (CIP) under Belgian law. 

 Applicants must be available to begin in the role from the 1st of September 2024 (tentative date). 

Candidates must be eligible to work in Belgium.
