Department 00225 – Rheumatology Job Summary
Administrative leader who, under the direction of the Division Chief, directs and manages all operational, financial, and strategic planning of a division within the Department of Internal Medicine. This Division Administrator position has direct reporting responsibility to the Division Chief, and functional reporting responsibility to the Department Senior Administrative Director. This is an exciting and dynamic position requiring oversight of clinical, research, and clinical education missions, coordinating across institutional partnerships and physician faculty members. Technical proficiency in related areas is essential, as are strong interpersonal relationship management skills.
The Department of Internal Medicine consists of 11 clinical and 1 non-clinical sub-specialty divisions with a clinical footprint that covers the Wasatch Front and beyond. With over 1,700 faculty, staff and trainees, the Department of Internal Medicine is the largest department on the University of Utah campus and growing rapidly.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
