Department 00848 – Pediatric Administration Job Summary
Under administrative direction, directs, manages, and supervises day-to-day operations for assigned clinical division(s) in the Department of Pediatrics including but not limited to clinical operations, human resource and financial management, outpatient and/or inpatient services, scheduling, materials management, program support, and quality assurance. In collaboration with the Division Chief and Department Administration, provides strategic support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new programs to advance the mission and goals of the division, and ensures ongoing quality of service in existing clinical, education, and research programs. Establishes strategies, objectives, and goals for the division, while meeting the university vision, standards, and priorities. Assists in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures; recommends changes when necessary and assists in the implementation of new processes. Provides leadership, coaching, counseling, and career development opportunities to staff. Manages the activities of first-level and second-level managers and/or supervisors. Requires a broad knowledge of the field with proven leadership skills. Acts as a catalyst between the division and its customers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
