Job description

 

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic publisher to take charge of a portfolio of journals within our company. As a publisher of academic journals, you will play a key role in the editorial management, strategic development and growth of our physics publications.

A key objective will be to manage and develop networks and relationships within your disciplines, and to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop your portfolio of reviews and identify opportunities for growth.

Main responsibilities:

Editorial Management (in collaboration with an editorial office) :

• Supervising the editorial process, from article selection to publication, ensuring quality and scientific integrity.
• Working closely with authors, reviewers and editorial boards to ensure an effective peer review process.

Strategic Development :

• Alongside and with the scientific editors of the journals:
  • Identifying emerging trends in physics and proposing editorial strategies to strengthen the market position of journals.
  • Work to increase the journal’s visibility, submissions and reputation in the field
• Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the journals, in close collaboration with the relevant internal staff, e.g. content management, sales, marketing, etc.

• Representing the company at conferences and academic events to promote our publications and establish partnerships.

Relations with the scientific community :

• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with your editors and editorial boards in order to build and maintain the reputation and quality of the journals
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with authors, researchers and academic institutions.
• Implement new author/publishing services for your portfolio as required

• Organise and host editorial board meetings, leading discussions on content development based on analysis and evidence

Scientific and Technological Watch :

• Keep abreast of recent developments in the field of physics to ensure that our journals remain relevant and up-to-date.
• Working with editors to ensure comprehensive coverage of scientific advances.

 

Permanent contract, full-time

 

• Advantages:  13th month salary and bonus based on annual objectives.

Requirements
Specific Requirements

University degree in science, ideally in physics due to the portfolio of journals involved.
Fluency in English and French is essential in an international context
You have excellent interpersonal skills (editorial committees and collaborators) and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
You are comfortable with new technologies and social networks.
You have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You have leadership and communication skills. You are rigorous, organised, dynamic, intuitive and creative.

Both senior and junior publishers will be considered. Significant experience in scientific, technical and medical journal publishing, including journal portfolio development, would be a plus.
